Scouting for Food is the annual food-collection drive run by the Greater Colorado Council. Scouting for Food is our biggest community service project that takes place on two consecutive weekends. The food is delivered to families in need.
Scouting for Food History
Scouting for Food, the nation’s largest food drive, began as one Scout’s service project in St. Louis in 1985 and was adopted by the National Organization in 1988. Packs, Troops, and Crews all across America participate in this service project to collect food for those in need.

Ordering Door Hangers
Registration has closed for the 2023 Scouting for Food food drive. If your Unit would like to participate and did not put in a door hanger order, please reach out to Charlie Botnick to see if Council has enough extra to accommodate you. We recommend 20 per active Cub Scout and 40 per active Scouts BSA member.
Door hangers are expected to arrive at Council later in the week of October 23rd and will be available for pick-up at Council or at District Roundtables that happen before Nov 4.
